Royal Enfield cafe racer makes rider's day best it can be

A rider explains his affection for his Royal Enfield cafe racer in a new video.
"We have another winner," reader David Blankenhorn wrote. He has a sharp eye for interesting Royal Enfields and pointed out the appearance of a Royal Enfield in the recent GoPro video.

Now he's spotted the story of Mark W. on Megadeluxe.com. Mark is a  Melbourne lad who speaks movingly of his love affair with his 2003 Royal Enfield cafe racer in a beautifully shot video by Doux Wedding Corp.

You can watch it on Vimeo.

As Mark tells it, he went from "motorcycles are dangerous. Be a good boy, do what you're told" to finding out "this is the quickest thing on the planet. I have to have one."

Then a filling came loose while riding a single-cylinder thumper. His dentist turned out to be a vintage bike enthusiast. They got to talking. Mike was becoming part of a community.

He works in IT, a desk job, but he rides to work and rides home again. One of his goals is to make the daily ride to work as good as it can be, he says in the video.

"One of the best motorcycle video pieces I've seen about any bike," David Blankenhorn told me. "Only thing that he doesn't mention is whether or not it's as fast as it looks."

See what you think:
