The Fox, a custom Royal Enfield that evokes the past

The Fox is a clean looking custom from Old Empire Motorcycles.
The teasing is over. The Fox, a Royal Enfield-based custom from Old Empire Motorcycles, is all over the Internet.

Based in Norfolk, England, Old Empire Motorcycles has a global reach for its eye catching designs. That's thanks to the Internet and clever marketing, including high quality photos and fun videos that bring its motorcycles to life in vintage settings.

The designs themselves invite attention because they are carefully crafted and evoke a romantic era in motorcycling, without ostentation.

And the critics like what they see. There's a nice article about the Fox at the Return of the Cafe Racers blog.

For me, the Fox, with its blue headlight and teeny-bikini fenders answers some questions I didn't ask. I would add a chain guard.

On the other hand I'm delighted that this custom Royal Enfield Bullet retains the instantly identifiable casquette, of which OEM says:

"The beautiful nacelle houses all the unsightlys perfectly and is completed by our custom ‘Sturney Bars’ which are designed to mimic the shape of the housing exactly."

OEM's Alec Sharp pointed me toward these additional photos of the Fox:

The blue headlight is distinctive.
Points cover is a thing of beauty.
Brooks saddle is classic but likely not comfy.
Leather battery case is a nice touch.
Leather fuse box is even cuter.
Glorious bars enshrine the nacelle.
