RoyalEnfields.com is approaching a milestone: 1,000 posts. Since 2008 I've shared my joy and interest in Royal Enfield motorcycles with you about three times a week. Many of you have written to tell me that the blog has been useful to you, or at least enjoyable to read.

That's great to hear.

There's another kind of email I receive from time to time, though, from experts offering to help me maximize the reach of RoyalEnfields.com through Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques. These services mince no words. As one recent email put it:

• 1. Your website RoyalEnfields.com is not ranking top in Google organic search for many competitive keyword phrases.
• 2. Your website profile is not available in most of the Social Media Websites.
• 3. Your site has four Google back links; this can be improved further.
• 4. There are many additional improvements that could be made to your website.

What these folks don't realize is that I have a secret weapon. My wife is an SEO expert, who teaches multimedia journalism at Florida Atlantic University. I have instant access to the techniques that would push RoyalEnfields.com to the front of the pack. I suspect I could, if I chose, rule the Internet.

All I would have to do is listen to my wife.

It's not that I am not listening, mind you but, apparently, I am not hearing what she is telling me. Luckily, she doesn't hold it against me.

"Just keep doing what you love," she advises. "Some day Google will notice."
