This blog lists Royal Enfield motorcycles for sale in the United States. I've always enjoyed seeing "what's out there" for sale. Looking at the ads, you get to see a lot of pictures of what people have done to their bikes to make them special.
Every once in awhile, the effort really pays off when someone lets you know this blog led them to purchase a motorcycle.
Don Udey, of Illinois, was nice enough to write:
"I've been a Royal Enfield fan for many years, but always interested in the Interceptors. I'm on my third now. The first I got (Mk IA) came with a Weber (sports car) carburetor; I sold it. After that I bought one in boxes, that already had some 40,000-plus miles on it. I spent a year rebuilding it (Mk I), but never got the response out of it I was looking for (see the picture of the blue one).
"I never gave up, though. I decided I wanted to find a very fresh one that was already rebuilt — that's where your blog came in.
"You had posted one in your blog late last summer, and I went ahead and bought it (red Mk IA). The engine had 2 miles on it. How nice is that?
"It has a magneto ignition, and no chokes are fitted. It was 35 here in Illinois this morning and it started in two kicks in an unheated garage.
"THANKS so much for your blog and your help. You're providing a great service to the biking community."
Thank you, Don, and best of luck with the great looking Interceptor.
