Video puts you on Royal Enfield to the sky
Watch this video and ride a Royal Enfield Bullet up the road to Khardung La, one of the highest motorable passes in the world at a claimed 18,380 feet.
And no guard rails!
"HMR" posted this video, shot by a handlebar mounted camera on his 1996 Royal Enfield Bullet. He rode as part of the Himalayan Odyssey 2009, sponsored by Royal Enfield. Riders left from New Delhi June 13 for the sixth edition of the event.
HMR, of Mumbai, described the 14-day ride as "simply superb despite the bad weather at the beginning of the ride."
Royal Enfield describes its ride to the sky as "the biggest, the toughest, the highest and the most fun-filled ride above sea level."
The company provides "service and medical back up to provide confidence not just to the first time participants but also to their friends and family. The Himalayan Odyssey has expert and experienced pilots to guide the group in various areas of bike riding and coping with the weather."
It would take a lot of coaching to get me up that road. But it's nice knowing that my Bullet could do it!

Wow, this is scary-looking
ReplyDeletedavid: don't even think about it....
ReplyDeleteI wonder how often a work crew goes up to clear out the boulders on the path.
ReplyDeleteWhen the RE passed the van I tried to think if passing was allowed on the right there. One good and it would be very painful.
Nice video, thanks!
Dont it make you proud to own a Bull? :)
ReplyDeleteThey'll pull up anything, no wonder they won the ISDT plenty of times.
