How to make a pretty motorcycle look ugly

Few machines we encounter in daily life inspire as much admiration as do motorcycles. Motorcycles are routinely added to modeling shots to create an aura of glamor, power, excitement, danger and adventure.

In fact, if we admit it, few of us who actually ride motorcycles look as dashing as the machines we ride. This may be the most convincing reason to dress adequately when you ride: we love your Harley, but no one wants to see your armpits, thank you.

Nevertheless, it is possible to make a motorcycle, even a great looking motorcycle, look ugly in a photograph. Here's how you do it, in my opinion: take the picture of the poor motorcycle while its fork is locked in the parking position. Even worse, do this on a motorcycle, like the Royal Enfield, that has a right-facing lock position and a side stand on the left.

The result is a motorcycle that looks like it had its neck broken. Am I right?

  1. Agreed! Plus, the best side of an Enfield is the pipe side.
